PURPLE

I said I’m done so I’m done 
One day I’ll go and be gone 
But for now 
For the moment 
I am watching these tides 
reaching real high 
for an azure blue sky 
and I watch them all 
come down with a fall 
and they're losing their light 
within the depths of the sea 
but it’s a learning curveball 
and that’s never been easy 
so here’s to forgetting it all 

I’m unlearning and breathing 
and relearning forgiveness 
of everyone’s soul 
so when I finally forgave 
I promised myself no more 
and these waves felt stillness 
as it reached for the shore 
and with it is the courage 
of starting over 
of letting go 
Intentions that touch 
and touching this sand 
that’s laying beneath 
my French-tipped toes
